Easter 09

Our Easter Egg Hunt!

The kids loved dying the eggs!

Oh she looks so sweet... don't let her fool you! JK!

Halie just stood at the gate, waved and repeated " Hi East-ah Bunny"

My kids don't do mornings! ... They were a little out of sorts getting up this morning hence the lovely picture! ... Isn't this fun kids!
Micah is mad that the grass was wet and he was in flip flops!.. OOPS... who knew it was going to rain?

Easter was great this year! We got up Saturday and went to the park for the annual Easter Egg Hunt... where there was 5,000 pieces of candy and about 5,000 kids! haha! Halie was a little scared but Micah was so sweet and tossed candy to her. Then we went to the mall to see the Easter Bunny, Halie stood at the little fence and waved "Hi Eastah Bunny"... but when we tried to take a picture she cried!... So we went and grabbed some pretzels and went home:) Easter Day we woke up and searched for our baskets!....then dyed Easter Eggs.... went to church and then had Easter Dinner with Matt and Becky.... After dinner we had a fun little egg hunt in the backyard! It was a great weekend!

TUTU FUN!

Halie officially started dance class today! I was a little nervous about the whole situation. (If any of you recall Micah's reaction when starting anything ... you will know why!) But she did great! I have been thinking about signing her up for a while... and finally decided that both her and Micah are growing up way to fast and she is only going to be cute and little for a short while so better now than later!

So last week I went and got her little leotards... tutu's....tights.... etc! It was fun... I even made a few tutu's (to save a few bucks!)....

So today was the day... we got up... got ready... Halie was a little nervous and kept asking if she was going to play with babies at dance class! I had to explain to her it was a little different than nursery!

So we got there and she was all decked out... a little over dressed I found out! Oops ( I couldn't help myself) One of the mom's asked if that was the outfits for the spring recital.... "No it's just what she's wearing to practice in"....
BUT SHE DID SO GOOD!
I expected crying... clinging.... and none of that happened... after a few seconds she wondered out and stood on her yellow star and listened closely to what the teacher was saying. She followed along... a few steps behind everyone but hey atleast she was out there! It was fun! Afterwards we went to the library and she told my cousin "My dance class fun Cara"... so as long as she enjoys it I will keep her in the class!

At Home... practicing... which is funny... all I knew to tell her was stand on your star.... twirl in a circle... tap your toes!Holy cow she is following directions! Oh I was so proud!
This was the tap portion of the class... the other girls changed into their tap shoes... Halie decided to take her tutu off... and then she was looking for her tap shoes... good thing I had her little "jewel shoes" in my purse... she did not know the difference! (So she was suppose to be standing on the yellow star... she got a little distracted looking at herself in the mirror!)Her pink and brown tutu!

I miss my friend!

So I am sure you have seen pix of my friend Ashley on my blog.... she is like my kids second mother.... and my best friend! Well a week ago she moved away... to Salt Lake :(... sad!... but happy too! Does that make sense? I am so happy for her. She is getting married in a few months and her fiance is going to school at the U so she of course had to move up there!... I am happy for her but sad for me!
You know that kind of friend you can call anytime and talk about nothing and they still care... or that friend that will meet you for lunch with your wild kids every week and acts like she loves it! (haha).... or that friend that you know will tell you the truth when you try something on at the store... or the friend that would drop anything for you if you needed her.... Well that is ASHLEY! She was and still is my best friend.... now just a little harder to meet for lunch and shop with ... Ash... just wanted to let ya know that I love ya and miss ya! Can't wait to come see your cute place!

A POST WITH NO PICTURES?

I know... what am I doing posting without pictures! But I don't have any and thought I would post anyways since it has been a while!

So as most of you will probably already know my sister Megan is pregnant! I am so excited for her and Mike! They are going to be awesome parents! So I explained a month or so ago to my kids that Aunt Megan has a baby in her tummy! Micah totally gets it... Halie wants to see the baby, hold the baby, squeeze it to death.. etc!

But ever since I have told them she's pregnant they have included Megan's baby in EVERY SINGLE PRAYER WE HAVE HAD SINCE! It is so cute.... Micah sometimes forgets, but don't worry, everytime we fold our arms Halie starts repeating...
"bless-ah Megan Baby-ah (she ads "ah" to the end of every word)! So at church on Sunday during the opening prayer Halie starts yelling, "BLESS-AH MEGAN'S BABY-AH!, "BLESS-AH MEGAN'S BABY-AH!"BLESS-AH MEGAN'S BABY-AH! It was so funny! The other funny thing is Micah has many times said "BLESS MEGAN'S BABY THAT IT WILL BE A BOY OR A GIRL!" (yes micah lets hope it is not both... and not an animal or something! haha!)

Latley...

Micah and Halie have been in competition... Micah says " I want to lay with grandma... then Halie promptly runs over.. wines a bit and says"I lay wit gama"... I use it to my advantage.... "who want so tickle mom's back... who wants to help mom clean..." Halie has been sleeping like this: We have caught her with her legs crossed several times in the last couple weeks... hilarious cause I often sleep like this!

And... an update on Micah and his "friend that kissed him".... well now he brings home letters... EVERYDAY... the last one read: "Dear Micah, thank you for letting me sit by you. You are the LOVE OF MY LIFE?! I love your smile! Love Chaisey" ... He even recieved a Valentine in the mail from her! Oh boy!... Where do 4 year olds come up with "YOU ARE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE?"...

This was a forward I got!... BUT IT IS TOTALLY ABOUT ME!

C. A. A. D. D.

Recently, I was diagnosed with C. A. A. D. D. - Child Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to do the laundry. As I start toward thelaundry room, I notice that there are cheerios allover the floor and my car keys are in the cereal bowl.I decide topick up the cheerios before I do thelaundry. I lay my car keys down on the counter, put the cheerios in the trash can under the counter, and notice that the trash can is full.

So, I decide totake out the trash. But then I think, since I'm goingto be near the mailbox when I take out the trash I mayas well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table, and see that there is only one check left, my extra checks are in my desk in the office/playroom, so I go to my desk where I find a sippy cup full ofjuice.I'm going to look for my checks, but first I decide I should put sippy cup in the refrigerator to keep itcold. As I head toward the kitchen with the sippy cup,a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye--theyneed to be watered. I set the sippy cup on the counter, and I discover baby wipes that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back in the bathroom, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the wipes back down, fill a container with waterand suddenly I spot the TV remote, one of the kidsleft it on the kitchen table. I realize that when they go to watch TV, I will be looking for the remote asthey fight over who lost it, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it backin the den where it belongs, but first I'll water theflowers.I splash some water on the flowers, but most of it spills on the floor.

So, I set the remote back down, get some paper towels and wipe up the spill. Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do. At the end of the day: the laundry isn't washed, thebills aren't paid, there is a warm cup of juicesitting on the counter, the flowers aren't watered, there is still only one check in my checkbook, I can't find the remote, I can't find the wipes, and I don' t remember what I did with the car keys. Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today, I'm really baffled because I know I was busyall day long, and I'm really tired. I realize this is a serious problem, and I'll try toget some help for it, but first I'll check my e-mail... Don't laugh-- if this isn't you yet, your day is coming.

THANKS AMBER! This gave me a good laugh!

You're Looking at the First Place Winner...

...OF THE PINE WOOD DERBY!
{I forgot my camera... but my friend had hers! Thanks for the pix!}

Yes... Micah's car is the red block of wood... not shaped like a car...
he wanted to just leave it how it came ... so we did!
No one would have placed a bet that Micah would have one... with his block... I mean car!...
Even I had my doubts... But Jeff was convinced Micah had the winning car...
And he did...
Race after race... he kept winning!
EVERYONE WAS SHOCKED! THEY ALL STARTED LAUGHING AS HE KEPT WINNING!

Here is his award for Fastest Car!... PS. Our ward does not have enough scouts so they invited the Elders Quorum to participate, hence the reason it says Old Guy Car...
Jeff let Micah race in his spot!

Oh boy... I don't know how old they are when they start scouts... but Micah is ready!...
He had a blast!
