Where did time go? I swear it was yesterday that I was in the hospital awaiting our sweet little boys arrival, and now he is turning 5! I cannot believe how fast time flys!! I started making a slide show of his first 5 years last week and I cannot believe how much fun we have had with Micah in these past five years. He completely changed our lives and made us a family. I cannot imagine life without him.
I hear this song like everyday and it still brings tears to my eyes:
"you're gonna miss this,
you're gonna want this back,
you're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast!"
Well if it was possible to rewind time I would... I miss the days of Micah being a little baby, tottling around the house, sucking on his pacifier (mimi). I miss taking naps with him on the coach... I remember when I thought he would never be big enough to feed himself or do anything without my help... and slowly he has become more independent than I want him to be. I still try to get him dressed... I still want to hold him like he is a baby... and it is then that I realize how fast time goes. (yes I am crying!) So I figure I am going to look back at his 5 year old pictures and wish I could go back to these days ... so for now I am trying to enjoy every second I have with my kids because I swear I am going to wake up tomorrow and he will be leaving on his mission.... ( and I already miss him!)

Hyde Update
Micah got done with preschool a few weeks ago! These are his cute teachers! Ms. Julie and Grandma Smith. He is in love with his teachers, he begged on the last day of school to sign him up for Summer School so I did!.... He only goes two weeks in June and two weeks in July so it will be nice to keep him busy!
This is the cute little sign I made for his teachers thank you gift! I thought it turned out cute!

So the other day Micah was sitting... we were watching tv... and the next thing I knew I heard this snipping sound... I look over and he was just cutting his hair... I don't think he knew what he was doing... but he was rubbing his head with the scissors and next thing he knew he had a "step cut!

The funniest thing was when I tried to take a picture he yelled: You are not taking a picture of me... CAUSE ALL YOU ARE GOING TO DO IS PUT IT ON YOUR BLOG AND EVERYONE WILL JUST MAKE FUN OF ME!... Kids are so funny!
We signed Micah up for Safety Town. I think he has social anxiety issues. He was so nervous everyday when I dropped him off.. I watched the other kids hop out of their cars and run in... not Micah... I had to walk him in... stay for about 20 min till he gave me the ok! This picture was taken at Safety Town graduation... He was suppose to go on the stage... but refused! He looks like he is being tortured... I don't know what to do with him?

Proud because my sweet little boy who is scared to death to do anything new actually got up on the stage and and sang the Mother's Day songs with the primary! If you recall a post from last year Micah came crying off the stage during his first Primary Program.... yes.... so we were a little nervous that he would do the same yesterday. But we had success. It was the cutest thing. He is such a good little singer and knows every primary song by heart, he sings all day, but he gets so nervous to be on the stage. I was so proud of him!
Besides him singing, Jeff made me a great breakfast and dinner, and Halie thinks she bought me flip flops because she saw my new shoes I bought and when I asked her what she got me for Mother's day she looked over and said " I got you new flip flops MOM!" (Thats our little Halie always coming up with something clever... she cracks me up!)
And .. just ask Megan (she was here) Micah did the cutest thing... after Jeff gave me my gift, Micah ran to his room and got out the present he made me in preschool and said "Here mom, I was trying to think of something I could get you that I didn't need my dad's help with!" So sweet! It was a cute little paper flower with his picture on it in a pot! I had the best mother's day! I am so grateful for my 2 sweet little children! They are my life! I love being a mom! Here are some pics of them I took today and yesterday before church!

Trip to Salt Lake!

Sooo.. it has been a few weeks... but I am finally getting around to posting some pix from our trip to Salt Lake. We had a good time visiting Jeff's family. Chris (Jeff's brother) Katey and Kiley flew in from Colorado. We do not see them much so we went to spend the weekend with the fam! We went to the Discovery Museum... rode tracks "the train" ate lots of good food, visited the great grandparents, played, and took some family pictures. Here are a few of them. It was a little difficult to do the whole tri-pod/ timer thing. But hey atleast we got some pictures of all of us! Thanks for a fun weekend!

She stole the show...
not because she was a great dancer... but because she was (lets say) "original"
So tonight was Halie's first Dance Recital. She has now been in dance for only 2 months but they still allowed her to perform... or at least stand on the stage!
Pretty much this is how it went:
I had stand to the side of the stage, Halie stood on the "star" closest to me, so that she could see me and still be on the stage. I was thrilled that she would even go out there by herself.... so we were doing good... she at least stood in her spot and stayed there while the other girls were dancing, Halie was looking at the lights, searching for Dad and Micah, tried at one point to follow along... and then after getting bored with the regular dance... she decided to add a little move of her own! HALIE DECIDED TO LAY ON THE FLOOR FLAT ON HER BACK AND POINT HER LEGS IN THE AIR ONE AT A TIME.... Yes while all the other girls are still doing the cute little dance... HALIE WAS smiling away and kicking her legs in the air while laying flat on her back.... Now this was a dance move in one of the dances, but not this particular dance. The crowd was laughing so hard! And I have to say I was too!.... So the second dance rolled around where they were suppose to lay on the floor and point their little feet in the air and of course she didn't do it then, instead she stood there and pulled her tutu up to her neck ... then down to her knees... then smiled and laughed.... IT WAS HILARIOUS!
Good thing she is so stinkin' cute!
I asked her teacher if she wanted to kick Halie out of the class and she keeps telling me that most kids at her age kick and scream and won't even go on the stage... so we are taking small steps!.... Here are a few pictures... hopefully they give you a good laugh! :)

Recital Outfit!

My cute little family!
She looks like she hates it... but she really doesn't she just hates taking pictures! She loves dance!
Waiting to go on stage... So many cute little girls!
Halie amazed at the lights not realizing she is suppose to dance! Silly girl!
Attempting to dance... good job!

And this is where she stole the show... while the other kids danced Halie layed down and pointed her feet in the air... THE CROWD LAUGHED SO HARD!

And everyone after the recital kept coming up and telling us how cute she was and how
she stole the show! I guess when they are the littlest one out there they can get away with it!
We have video of her wonderful performance so if you are ever at our house and want a good laugh ask us to whip it out!
And when I put Halie to bed tonight, I told her that she did such a good job not crying on the stage.... she then said, can we dance on the stage tomorrow too mom? I am so glad she loves it!

Dance Pictures!

Oh heavens... I think I signed Halie up for dance at the most expensive time of year.... Within the month and a half she has been in dance, she has now had Dance Pictures, Costume Fee, Recital Fee... and who knows what else! And the funny thing is I know there is no way she is going to get up on the stage and do the little dance. But I will dress her up and see what happens!
So a few weeks ago she had Dance pictures... That was a pleasent experience.... it was during nap time so she was not having it. She pouted and frowned and did everything she could not to smile for her pictures. Prior to taking the pics I thought to myself... I will just pay for the pictures and get enough for grandparents etc. so that I don't have to get her dressed up again and take the pictures myself!... Bad idea! I have tramatized my children and they hate cameras!... Bless the photographers heart, but I was glad to see that I am not the only one that can't get my kids to smile for a picture! Haha
The good thing is Halie does love going to dance class... she is still a few steps behind on the routines, and following along, but it will come in time. She has woken up a few times this weekand said "I want to go to dance class today Mommy"
So as long as she likes it we will keep going!
